I walked away from this shoot with the burnt aroma of freshly roasted coffee in my clothes!
Award-winning environmentally focused coffee roastery, Wooden Hill is hidden away behind Ampthill Great Park off the A507 in the heart of Bedfordshire. The hugely successful business was established in 2015 after the owner Robin had the idea to create his own blend and brand of coffee, having worked in the sector for many years.
He set about roasting a unique blend of fairtrade coffee beans and packaged them in compostable bags. The artisan coffees are supplied to businesses across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire as well as London & beyond !
Wooden Hill is not just a roastery but has a unique outdoor coffee shop regularly frequented by nordic walkers, hikers, dog walkers & cyclists who can choose from a huge array of drinks & homemade snacks. It is delightfully simple & rustic outdoor space created by wooden palettes made into sofas and tables and covered in old hessian coffee bags to give a really unique experience in which to enjoy your refreshments..There is a steady flow of people throughout the day collecting roasted coffee for consumption at home or in businesses.
My brief was to photograph Wooden Hill in 'action' as it naturally runs throughout the day. Robin was keen to get natural, light-hearted images which reflects his business values. We wanted to inform his clients of the unique space they have through to items that they sell in the shop as well as the importance that this is also a working coffee roastery .
