The Priory, Little Wymondley, Hertfordshire

A historic barn venue

The Priory in Little Wymondley was one the first barns in Britain to become a dedicated wedding venue all the way back in 1992, but its history begins in 1541, making it one of the oldest and finest timber barns in the country.

With so much space, the Priory has hosted thousands of weddings, and the versatile space includes licensed ceremony areas in the Tithe barn or outside overlooking the beautiful countryside.

A rustic venue you can make your own

One of the lovely features of the Priory is the ancient moat, which is a fantastic place for a few photos and to set off the venue's historic charm.

The carefully cultivated laws are brilliant for a few outdoor games to keep your guests happy whilst you're off taking photos, or make use of The Priory's outdoor ceremony license, and get married out under the open sky.

Indoors, the Tithe Barn's beautiful beams and flagstone floors are perfect for all styles of decoration, including bunting and fairy lights, so you can put your own unique stamp on the day.

The barn doors make for a beautiful feature, and there's also a raised stage that is great if you want the top table to literally be top, or for setting up for a band or DJ later in the evening.

The Priory is a wonderful venue for a photographer, inside every angle includes gorgeous rustic features, and outside the pretty trees, lawns and historic farm buildings give an amazing backdrop.

Rachael and Dan tied the knot at The Priory Barns in Little Wymondly, Hertfordshire, on May 28th 2017. Hosting over 2000 weddings to date, The Priory has served as a wedding venue since 1992, with the historic barn being built in 1541 by James Needham.
